Governance with Grace: A Human Centred Approach to AI Ethics

In the rush to embed AI across organisations, it can be tempting for chief digital

officers, transformation leads and risk partners to treat ethics as  an obligation to clear rather than a capability to build.


However for ethics governance to be effective it has to be deeply human and relational. It is a way of thinking about AI ethics that balances rigour with respect for people, for judgement and for the complexity of the environments in which leaders and teams operate. It is the capacity to embed ethical clarity in a way that is sustainable and deeply human.

• The AI Risk and Readiness in the Enterprise Report 2025 finds that 93.2 percent of organisations lack full confidence in securing AI driven data, and 69.5 percent cite AI powered data leaks as their top concern, yet almost half still have no AI specific security controls in place.


• The 2025 Global Responsible AI Transparency Survey from Microsoft reports that more than 30 percent of respondents cite the lack of governance and risk management solutions as the top barrier to responsible AI.
